What is Discount Hawaii Car Rental - We are
booking agents for many major national car rental companies. We will find
you the best discount rate tailored to your rental requirements. |

What do I need to bring along when I pick my vehicle
up - You will need your valid driver's license and a credit or debit
card in your name. For more information on accepted Credit/Debit cards
please refer to the company's terms & conditions page. The rental companies
have different card and credit policies. |

What is Brandx? I've never heard of them -
Brandx is a major national rental company whose name can't be advertised due
to some rather complicated marketing policies. They have locations at all
major US airports. |

Please confirm that my reservation is guaranteed
without a deposit - All reservations are guaranteed. No credit information is taken till you pickup at the
location. |

Can I use any debit card
- Debit cards must have either the MasterCard or Visa logo on them and may
be subject to a credit check. |

What is your cancellation policy - Cancel at
any time without penalty. You may cancel by return email or on this website. |

Are there any age restrictions - You must be 21
or older when you pickup. Some companies have a higher minimum age; 25 or
older. Others charge a daily young Driver fee of $20-$25/day plus taxes. We
almost always manage to book young drivers (21-24) without any extra fees.
The only limitation would be availability or location. |

What do I need to do to add my spouse as a extra
driver - Additional drivers are added at the counter on pickup. Some
companies charge extra, some don't. We will always take your extra drivers
into account when searching for your lowest rate and will book you at the
rate that works out to the lowest total. |

Do I need an international driver's license to rent a
vehicle - You will need to present your regular license. The
international license is only for translation purposes and is not required. |

What are the regulations regarding the use of a child
restraint devices in Hawaii - 3 yrs. and younger in a child safety
seat; 4 yrs. through 7 yrs. must be in a booster seat or child restraint (eff.
1/1/07) 4 through 7 yrs. who are taller than 4'9"; 4 through 7 yrs. who are
at least 40 lbs seated in a rear seat where if there are no available
lap/shoulder belts, may be restrained by a lap belt (eff. 1/1/07) |

Are these the same new vehicles rented on the rental
companies' websites - All rentals will be current models with air
conditioning and automatic transmissions. Unlimited miles are included. |

I need a car for 6 days. Should I reserve it for a
week seeing that the weekly rate is less - No only make your
reservation for the amount of time you will need the vehicle for. After 5/6
days the weekly rate applies anyway. |

I'm island hopping for a week in Hawaii. Can I get the
weekly rate for my rentals - Sorry our contracts don't allow us to
combine rentals from different locations. Each rental requires a separate
reservation. |

Do you have child safety seats - All our
suppliers; excepting Enterprise; offer child passenger restraint systems
that meet federal motor vehicle safety standards as an optional service at
the rate of $8-9/day. Effective Jan 1 2007 all
children under the age of 8 who are under 4'9" (144.78 cm) are required to
use a restraint system.

Why aren't the taxes and any additional fees
(government fees or taxes) included in the posted rates - We post the
Basic Rates common to all locations. Taxes can vary by location and certain
taxes are location specific and therefore can't be included. The general
formula for calculating taxes is at the bottom of the Basic Rate table. |

Are there any hidden charges - No there are no
hidden charges. All mandatory charges are on your confirmation notice. |
|
We want to take the Superferry and return the car
on another island. - Rental cars are prohibited. The registered owner
of the vehicle must be present or a notarized "Authorized-to-Move Form" must
be presented in lieu thereof (Hawaii State Law HRS 286-271). see:

Do you have monthly rates? We need a car for three
months - There are no monthly rates per se though sometimes we can
negotiate an additional discount. |

Is insurance included - Insurance is optional,
available at the counter. The rental companies have no minimum requirements.
For policy and rate information please refer to the terms & conditions page
of the rental company. We suggest you compare to offerings from your current
auto insurance or travel insurance provider. |

I'm on a Hawaiian cruise can I rent through you and
still get the discount rates - Yes. We ask that you make your
reservation through our cruise ship

Can I have a car delivered to the pier when we dock
- No. The rental company will shuttle you from the pier to the car lot and
back. |
|
Are there any restricted roads - There are
restrictions on certain remote and rough roads. The restrictions vary by

I rented the 4WD SUV, can I take it on Saddle Road
- Please check with us to ensure that you are booked with a company that
allows travel on Saddle Road. |

Can I take my Wrangler off-road down into Waipio
Valley - No off-road use is allowed regardless of company booked
with or vehicle type. You are required to stay on paved roads. |

Is there emergency roadside service available -
Emergency roadside assistance is provided. The contact number will be on
your Rental Agreement. |
|
I took the prepaid fuel option. I returned the vehicle
with a half full tank and they charged me $69. The amount to fill half the
tank should have been about $25 - The prepaid option is for a FULL
TANK of gasoline regardless of how much is in the tank on return. They
calculate this by the fuel tank capacity. |
